Financial Aid/Scholarship Renewal

Bard College Berlin awards financial aid per academic year, and recipients must apply to renew it annually. Financial aid is generally awarded for 4 consecutive academic years (8 semesters of continuous, full-time study). For transfer students, the duration is adjusted based on your projected graduation timeline after your official credit transfer. 

The continuation of financial aid is contingent upon three factors:

• Submitting all required renewal documents on time each year,
• Demonstrating a consistent level of financial need, and
• Maintaining good academic standing (scholarship recipients must maintain at least 3.0 GPA).

Funding is not guaranteed beyond these timeframes. If you require additional semesters, you may apply for extended aid but should be prepared to cover all costs if it is not approved. Failure to complete the renewal process or maintain good standing may result in the forfeiture of a financial aid award.

Generally, students can expect to receive the same amount of aid throughout their studies. Financial aid packages do not automatically adjust to cover fee increases.

Due Date: April 1 at 5 pm

Step 1: Download and fill out your 2026-2027 Financial Aid Renewal Application and Checklist.

Step 2: Gather your supporting documents like tax returns or bank statements to confirm the information from your application form.

Step 3: Upload your documents in a single PDF file through this Google Form for Financial Assistance Renewal.

Step 4 (US Citizens & Permanent Residents): Please make sure that you renew your FAFSA, which is a mandatory step each year. You can find more information on the US Federal Aid website.

Please note that incomplete renewal applications will not be processed until all required documents are received.
