Bard College Berlin offers two payment plans for tuition and fees. The Standard Plan allows the comprehensive fee to be paid in four installments per year, while the Bard Budget Plan (BBP) allows ten monthly installments. Detailed information about each plan as well as payment methods can be found below. To learn more about tuition and fees, please visit the Tuition and Fees page.

Payment Plans

  • Option 1: Standard Payment Plan
The Standard Payment Plan divides the annual comprehensive fee into four installments: the fall semester fee is due in July and August, and the spring semester fee in December and January. A non-refundable deposit of €500 is due upon initial enrollment and is applied as a credit to the first installment. Students who receive scholarships or financial aid awards should subtract those amounts from their total comprehensive fee.

The Semesterticket (transit pass) Fee and Reader Fee have separate deadlines and must be paid in full by the following dates:
    • Semesterticket Fee: Due May 15 for the fall semester and November 15 for the spring semester. For incoming first-year students, it will be billed with your first fall installment on July 15. For incoming spring transfer students, it will be billed with your first spring installment on December 15.
    • Reader Fee: Due in October for the fall and in March for the spring.
A billing statement is sent before each payment deadline. You must pay any charges by the statement due date. Late payments incur a €30 fee per billing statement. For full financial policies, please refer to the Student Handbook.

  • Option 2: Bard Budget Plan
The Bard Budget Plan (BBP) divides the annual on-/off-campus comprehensive fee into 10 monthly installments, which are to be paid on the 15th of each month from July through April. A non-refundable deposit of €500 is due upon initial enrollment and is applied as a credit to the first semester payment. Students who receive scholarships or financial aid awards should subtract those amounts from their total comprehensive fee.

The Semesterticket (transit pass) Fee and Reader Fee cannot be paid in installments and must be paid in full by the following deadlines:
    • Semesterticket Fee: Due May 15 for the fall semester, and November 15 for the spring semester. For incoming first-year students, it will be billed with your first plan installment on July 15. For incoming spring transfer students, it will be billed with your first plan installment on December 15.
    • Reader Fee: Due in October for the fall semester, and in March for the spring semester.
Payment Plan Enrollment, Terms, and Conditions
    • A non-refundable €30 annual fee covers the plan’s administration and is not included in the installment amount. For transfer students enrolling in the spring, the administration fee is €15 for the spring semester.
    • A billing statement is sent before each payment deadline. You must pay any charges by the statement due date. Late payments incur a €30 fee per billing statement. Bard College Berlin reserves the right to terminate a plan after two or more late payments. For full financial policies, please refer to the Student Handbook.
    • To switch to the BBP, contact the Student Accounts Office at [email protected]. Once processed, your next billing statement will show your monthly installment as well as the total remaining balance.

Payment Methods

Information on how to make a payment can be found below. When making a payment to Bard College Berlin, please include the student's name and/or ID number as a reference.

  • Option 1: Wire Transfer
Wire transfers should be made to Bard College Berlin's account:
    Recipient: Bard College Berlin
Bank Name: HypoVereinsbank  (part of Unicredit Bank GmbH)
    Bank Address:  Leibnizstr. 100
    10625 Berlin
    Germany
    Account Nr.: 26868556
    Sort Code: 100 208 90
    IBAN:                DE98 1002 0890 0026 8685 56
    SWIFT (BIC):  HYVEDEMM488

Please include the student's name when making the transfer. This will allow us to match the payment to the correct student account.

International wire transfers may accrue bank-processing fees, depending on the bank involved. When arranging transfers, please remember to add this processing fee to the amount being transferred. Fees retained by a bank will remain as an unpaid balance due on the student’s account.
  • Option 2: Check in U.S. dollars
Bard College Berlin also offers the option to pay by check in U.S. dollars. To convert a Euro balance to U.S. dollars, we recommend using an online currency converter.

    Checks should be mailed to:
    Bard College Berlin
    Attn: Sabine Beelitz
    Platanenstrasse 24
    13156 Berlin
    Germany

All bank charges are to be covered by the sender. Only the amount BCB receives will be applied to a student account. Fees retained by a bank will remain as an unpaid balance due on the BCB student’s account. Banks in Germany charge a processing fee of approximately €30 for international checks. Please make sure to add 30€ for bank processing fees to the total amount due stated on the invoice.

Furthermore, it can take up to 4-6 weeks before a check is processed and confirmed as received. During this time, any outstanding balances will be considered unpaid, resulting in late fees and student account holds.
