Dr. Oleksandra Keudel is an Associate Professor at the Kyiv School of Economics and an Associate at the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute. She studies democratic transformation and societal resilience, focusing on Ukraine’s local governance. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Free University of Berlin. She has been a visiting researcher at Harvard University, George Washington University, New York University, and Södertörn University. She combines academic research with policy consulting on open government and public integrity for international organisations such as the Council of Europe, GIZ, and IIEP-UNESCO.
Dr. Oksana Mikheieva is a professor of sociology at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv. From 2020 to 2023 she was a DAAD visiting professor at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder). She held a visiting professorship in Ukraine-European Dialogue at the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM) in Vienna in 2016, and in 2015 she was a Eugene and Daymel Shklar Research Fellow at Harvard University's Ukrainian Research Institute. She also serves on the editorial boards of the academic peer-reviewed journal 'Ukraina Moderna' and the analytical information journal 'East' ('Skhid'). From September 2023 until August 2024, she worked at ZOiS on a research project about the everyday experiences of forced Ukrainian migrants in the EU and home infrastructure on the move. From September 2025 to February 2026 she is a VUIAS Fellow at Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin (WIKO).
