Building a vibrant, inclusive campus community: Alisher Norov joins Bard College Berlin staff as the Residential Life & Community Coordinator
After arriving at BCB this August, Alisher notes the diversity, openness, and eagerness to engage with one another that he’s observed in the student body. “In the few weeks I have been at BCB,” he says, “I have already had the privilege of meeting many students, and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience… It is clear that the students are at the heart of BCB’s vibrant community, and I am excited to work alongside them to enhance their student life experience here at BCB.”
Prior to joining BCB, Alisher worked as the Student Affairs Coordinator at AUCA, a Bard partner institution from which he also earned his Bachelor’s degree in International and Comparative Politics. His experience at AUCA has shaped his approach to student engagement and community building that he hopes to apply to BCB. “During my years there, I developed a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that students face,” he explains, “and I learned firsthand the importance of creating an inclusive and supportive environment that allows students to thrive both academically and personally.”
Ultimately, Alisher says his goal at BCB is to make students’ experience at the college as enriching and enjoyable as possible. “Whether students have questions about student clubs, need support with residential matters, or just want to brainstorm ideas for improving the student experience, I am always available to help,” he says. “I want students to know that they can come to me not only with concerns but also with new ideas and initiatives. I am all about building a strong, inclusive community, and I am eager to collaborate with students to create events and activities that reflect their interests and passions.”
