Andreas Martin Widmann presents new novel Eddi at the University of Siegen
Eddi follows fifteen-year-old Eddi, a student at a sports boarding school near Neubrandenburg whose life is thrown into turmoil when a serious accusation surfaces against her mother and her parents announce they are moving to Japan. With only days to reimagine her future, Eddi has no time to lose. Just then, she locks herself out of her apartment…
Widmann also appeared on the university’s literature and media studies podcast “Transformationen des Populären” to talk about the novel, his work as a writer and academic, as well as his poetics and pop-cultural references in Eddi, such as the protagonists infatuation with 1980s hair metal.
