Deutsche Bundesbank incorporates survey questions from Prof. Dr. Thomas Eife's research in its monthly household survey

Prof. Dr. Thomas Eife, professor of economics at Bard College Berlin, studies how households form expectations about inflation. These expectations shape how people make decisions--for example, how much they spend, save, or demand in wages--which is why central banks pay close attention to them.

The Deutsche Bundesbank has agreed to include several variations of Eife's survey questions in its monthly household survey, which will allow him to test how different ways of asking questions influence respondents' answers. Given the Bundesbank's highly selective process, such collaboration is rare and marks an important step for the project.
