AI Today: Students Use, Academic Outcomes
Wednesday, April 15, 2026 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm CET/GMT+1Learning Commons (W16)
How are you and your peers using Chat GPT and other AI tools currently? Have you been surprised by some of its capacity for legitimate research? Are you concerned about its impact on your own learning or field of study?
In this discussion, the Learning Commons invites students to share their experiences using AI currently and gather questions they might have about how it fits into their degree at Bard Berlin and broader academic goals. Graduating students Muhammed Sayed and Alejandro Gilardi Ramirez will begin with a few words on their perspectives from using AI in research and changes around in-class tests and other assignments.
This meeting follows up on the AI Aware Universities program in 2025-6, in which the BCB community attended lectures by experts in the field and discussed the ethical use of AI in an undergraduate context. At that time, students shared their academic goals and guidelines with faculty. As things are moving so quickly with this technology, faculty would like to hear more about its actual use by students now. Learning Commons faculty will then share student perspectives in faculty meetings that follow.
