Students and instructors of the studio arts classes at Bard College Berlin warmly invite you to pass by the Open Studios on Monday, December 11th, from 5:00 to 9:00pm and explore some of the works created by the students throughout the semester.
In keeping with the crucial role the arts play in the Bard College Berlin curriculum, the Open Studios are an established bi-annual event focused on the production side of the studio arts classes and showcasing a wide variety of approaches and media.
The event takes place in the college's arts building The Factory, a vibrant and versatile collection of studio and exhibition spaces in a semi-renovated industrial structure.
On view will be works from the classes
Advanced Painting: Oil Paint and After (John Kleckner)
Advanced Sculpture: The Challenge of Form (John von Bergen)
Beginners Black and White Photography Class: Made for a Party & Photography: Cut with a Kitchen Knife (April Gertler)
Into One’s Own Process - Video Art (Dafna Maimon)
Landing on Kulturforum– an Introduction to Architecture and Urbanism (Wulf Böttger & Caroline Wolf)
Making history: political storytelling in contemporary art practice (Alex Martinis Roe & Assaf Gruber)
Talking Heads: The Republic on Film (Paul Festa)

BVG Directions: Bard College Berlin is in Niederschönhausen, a 12-minute tram ride from the “Pankow” S/U-Bahn station. Take the M1 tram towards the destination “Rosenthal Nord” or "Schillerstrasse", exit at “Friedrich-Engels-Str. / Eichenstrasse”. Bard College Berlin’s arts building is 2 blocks away on the right side with a large red banner in front.
