Bard College Berlin Presents
Bard College Berlin has the pleasure to invite you to an evening at the crossroads of times, people and places on Tuesday, May 15.
An exhibition of works of art created by students for the seminar History and Memory: Forced Migration in 20th and 21st century Germany will frame a presentation and dialogue about the late work of Francisco de Goya (1746-1828).
Nearly two centuries separate these expressions of migration and yet the same worn-out ghost wanders about.
Program
6pm – Opening of the exhibition and refreshments
7pm – Introduction by Marion Detjen and John von Bergen
7.20pm – Presentations by the students
8pm – Presentation by Geoff Lehman followed by a conversation with Norbert Miller about the late work of Goya
8.45pm – Open discussion
We will serve Afghani Burgers and a cake that has made it from Slovenia to Egyptian cookbooks.
Admission free
RSVP by May 14 at communications@berlin.bard.edu
