Mea Hoffmann ‘14 elected to the Bard College Berlin Board of Governors, becoming the first alumna to serve on the Board
Hoffmann is a design and architecture curator, thinker, and writer with a particular interest in the socio-political dimension of design. She is currently a curator at the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, Germany where she has worked on various major traveling exhibitions. She holds a Master's degree in Design Curating and Writing from the Design Academy Eindhoven, and has written for and edited a range of publications.
Hoffman is excited by the opportunity to remain actively involved with Bard College Berlin and to contribute to its vibrant community and culture: “I hope to amplify the student voice and to contribute to strengthening BCB’s visibility and network.”
As an alumna now sitting on the Board of her alma mater, Hoffmann says, “It’s a meaningful experience to return to BCB in this new role. I look forward to gaining insight into the governance side of the institution and contributing by sharing perspectives from my time as a student, while supporting the college’s continued development.”
Her experience at Bard College Berlin has played a formative role in shaping both her academic and professional trajectory, which she brings into her role on the Board. “The intercultural and interdisciplinary liberal arts education sharpened my analytical and conceptual thinking,” she states, “and encouraged a curious, inquiry-driven approach to complex challenges—skills that continue to inform my work today.”
Bard College Berlin warmly welcomes Mea Hoffmann to the Board of Governors!
