Postdoctoral Researcher Tobias Wuttke publishes two new academic articles

Dr. Tobias Wuttke, Postdoctoral Researcher at BCB, recently published two new articles. The first article, part of a special issue on Renewables Capitalism in the journal Development & Change, was co-authored with Lindsay Whitfield of Copenhagen Business School. It discusses how developing countries have historically escaped from their peripheral position in the global economy during periods of technological change, to draw lessons about how developing countries today can position themselves to make the most of similar windows of opportunity emerging from the green transition.

The second article, published in the Journal of Development Studies and co-authored with Bruno Perez Almansi of Università Ca' Foscari Venezia and Kriengkrai Techakanont of Thammasat University, examines the varying economic development outcomes of countries participating in the automotive global value chain (GVC) over the past three decades, focusing on a comparative study of Thailand, South Africa, and Argentina.
