Bard College Berlin is proud of its diverse campus community. In building an inclusive campus culture we foster critical thinking, where different experiences and perspectives lead to vigorous inquiry that generates new ideas and solutions.

Do you know the Queer Community Library in the K24 study room?

The LGBCBTQ+ club opened a queer community library in the K24 study room to bring queer literature, history, and awareness to the BCB community. The books and art works have been assembled through student donations as well as through support from the Civic Engagement Office. The LGBCBTQ+  club unites queer students over BCB's campus and in the larger queer community of Berlin in order to create not only a sense of community, but also a safe(r) space for queer students and allies alike to learn, heal and grow together. Are you ready to commit to Anti-Racism?

Everyone has biases. The important part is to be aware of them and one’s own privileges. The student organized anti-racist reading group at BCB facilitates exchange and discussions surrounding racism and injustice related to race in everyday life and within our society as a whole. The group meets in an informal setting to discuss anti-racist books and other material. Join one of their meetings to commit to anti-racism and address racial inequality.

Course Spotlight:
A Lexicon of Migration

Migration is one of the most important and contested features of today’s interconnected world. It has transformed most if not all contemporary nation-states into “pluralist,” “post-migrant,” and/or “super-diverse” polities. And it affects everyone—regardless of their own migratory status. This OSUN collaborative course examines the history of migration from local, national, and global perspectives, with particular emphasis on the economic and political developments that have produced specific forms of mobility in the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East. It encourages students to examine how migration experiences are inflected by differences of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, class, religious affiliation, (dis)ability, and legal status.
