Data Notice for Donors

Use of twingle
This website uses the donation form of twingle GmbH, (www.twingle.de , Prinzenallee 74, 13357 Berlin, Germany) which provides the technical platform that enables the donation process. The data you enter (e.g. address, bank details, etc.) will be stored by twingle on servers in Germany with the sole purpose of processing the donation.
A data protection agreement, which fully implements the strict requirements of the GDPR and the German data protection authorities, exists between Bard College Berlin and twingle and underlies the use of the donation form.
The transfer of your data is in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR (consent) and Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR (processing to fulfill a contract). You can revoke your consent for data processing at all times. A revocation does not impact the effectuality of past data processing.

Use of Matomo
twingle uses the web analysis service software Matomo (www.matomo.org, provided by InnoCraft Ltd., 150 Willis St, 6011 Wellington, New Zealand) to collect and store data, in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in the statistical analysis of user behavior for optimization purposes). Based on the same GDPR article, pseudonymized user profiles can be created from this data and evaluated. Cookies may be used for this purpose. Cookies are small text files that are stored locally in the cache of the Internet browser of the website visitor. They enable for instance the recognition of the Internet browser. The collected data using Matomoto technology (including your pseudonymized IP address) is processed on twingle servers.
The information generated by the cookie in the pseudonymous user profile is not used to personally identify the visitor to this website, nor is it merged with personal data about the bearer of the pseudonym.
You can object to the storage and evaluation of the data from your visit at any time by mouse click. A so-called opt-out cookie is then stored in your browser, which prevents Matomoto from collecting data from your session. Please note that the complete deletion of your cookies also includes the opt-out cookie, which may have to be reactivated by you.

Collection, processing and use of personal data for donations
In the process of the donation, your personal data will only be collected and used to the extent that it is needed to execute the donation and, if applicable, to process your enquiries. A donation will not be executable without the provision of this data. The handling of this data is in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR and is necessary for the processing of the donation. Your data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent. Exceptions are our partners and service providers needed to process the donation. In addition to the providers named in the respective clauses of this data protection agreement, these are, for instance, payment service providers or service providers used for the dispatch of donation receipts. Under all circumstances we strictly observe the legal requirements. The scope of data transfer is limited to a minimum. You can revoke your consent for data processing at all times. A revocation does not impact the effectuality of past data processing.

Internal Use of Information
If you opt to make your personal information (name, address, and possibly affiliation) available, you will receive a donation receipt (Spendenbescheinigung) from the College. Your name will appear on internal philanthropy documents strictly used during internal meetings. As a subsidiary of Bard College in Annandale (USA), donor information is stored by Bard College Berlin in a shared data management system.
If you choose to subscribe to the Bard College Berlin Newsletter you will receive an e-update on our College and campus about four times a year.
Bard College Berlin will not sell, rent, loan, trade, or lease any personal information collected online or offline. To prevent our donors from receiving multiple invitations to an event, Bard College Berlin reserves the right to share first name, last name, and affiliation with co-organizing partner institutions for the purpose of de-duplication.

If you are a donor to the College and have any queries regarding the information held on your person by the College and its usage, please contact [email protected].
