Syrian Archive and the Visual Documentation of Human Rights Violations

Bard College Berlin Lecture Hall, Platanenstr. 98a, Berlin - Pankow

Presented by Hadi Khatib

The Syrian Archive is building a counter narrative to the misinformation published by all actors in the Syrian conflict by collecting, verifying, preserving and investigating visual documentation of human rights violations by all sides in Syria since 2011. The goal is to be able to use verified materials to support advocacy research, assist in criminal case building and be part of a transitional justice process in Syria.

More info can be found here: https://syrianarchive.org/en/about

The presentation takes place in connection to the classes Critical Human Rights Practice / Global Legal Action Network (taught by Valentina Azarova), Doing “Justice” after Atrocity (taught by Kerry Bystrom), and Writer/Artists/Activistas! (taught by Ariane Simard).
