Global Humanities Certificate Meeting at the American University of Central Asia

Colleagues from around the Open Society University network met in Bishkek from June 26 to July 5 to create a new Global Humanities Certificate, open to all students studying at OSUN institutions.

Dean of Studies and Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at Bard Annandale David Shein, Dean of Bard College Berlin Catherine Toal, Dean of the School of General Education at BRAC University in Bangladesh Samia Huq, Professor of History at the American University of Bulgaria Simeon Simeonov, head of the Core Curriculum Division at Al-Quds Bard Ibrahim Marazka, and Lecturer in the Faculty of Arts at the European Humanities University in Vilnius Maria Laktionkina were hosted by Christopher Baker, Director of the Central Asian Studies Institute at the American University of Central Asia.

The meetings were organized and led by Andrea Lozano Vásquez, Dean of Humanities at Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. The Certificate program will draw on all fields of the humanities and provide core courses and a range of Network Collaborative and online courses contributed by the participating universities.
