Guest faculty Fred Abrahams published an analysis of the Albania elections on May 9 in the Balkan Observatory, prior to parliamentary elections in the country

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and his ruling Socialist Party secured an unprecedented fourth term in elections on May 11. A few days before, Fred Abrahams published an analysis titled "Albania Votes in the Shadow of Trump" about Rama's creeping authoritarianism, endemic corruption, and the role of Trump in this small Balkan state. Abrahams is the author of Modern Albania: From Dictatorship to Democracy in Europe (NYU Press).
