Prof. Dr. Aya Soika presents at Paris conference on the exhibition "L'Art Dégénéré. Une Histoire Corisée France / Allemagne"

Prof. Dr. Aya Soika will present at the Musée d'art et d'histoire du Judaïsme in Paris on 27-28 March as part of an international conference on the occasion of the exhibition "L'Art Dégénéré. Une Histoire Corisée France / Allemagne." 

Soika will participate with a paper on artist Emil Nolde's special position within those who were exhibited in the so-called "Degenerate Art" exhibition in Munich in 1937. In particular, she will examine Nolde's conception of an alleged pure German art versus an art that was French-inspired. The conference is hosted by the Musée Picasso Paris, the Musée d'art et d'histoire du Judaïsme, the Institut national d'histoire de l'art, and the Deutsches Forum Kunstgeschichte.
