Turning the tide: Vero Roza Rišňovská ‘20 honored for theater piece at Ars Electronica
With their theater piece titled There always will have been worlds, they were among four other projects from all over the world to receive an honorary mention for their work. Rišňovská describes the recognition as “unexpected” but ultimately validating—boosting their “confidence in [their] work.”
Combining electronics, storytelling, and DIY technology, There always will have been worlds explores the boundaries between care, support, and control through participatory theater. The piece was performed as part of the Festival’s Campus Exhibition, which showcases emerging talent in media arts and design.
Rišňovská developed this piece as the culminating project of her Master’s studies at Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch. The recognition it received felt like a fitting celebration—not only of the festival itself but also of her journey through graduate school. She describes it as an “incredibly joyful end to a—sometimes exhausting yet filled with happiness—adventure.”
