Alexander Lumans is a fiction writer and essayist. His fiction has appeared in a wide array of journals and collections including  Electric Literature’ s Recommended Reading, Guernica, Joyland, Hobart, StoryQuarterly, TriQuarterly, Black Warrior Review, Territory, F(r)iction, Sycamore Review, Bat City Review, Gulf Coast, Cincinnati Review, Clarkesworld, Blackbird, Forty Stories from Harper Perennial, and The Normal School, among many others. His essays, reviews and interviews have appeared in The Paris Review, The Believer, Guernica, Off Assignment, Electric Literature, Glimmertrain , Public Books, The Los Angeles Review of Books, The Walrus, Copper Nickel and others. He works as an Assistant Editor for American Short Fiction and holds an MFA from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. His writing has been recognized with many prestigious scholarships and residencies including an NEA grant and fellowships to The Arctic Circle Residency in Svalbard, Norway.
