How would you describe, in a nutshell, the experience of studying at BCB?BA in Economics, Politics, and Social Thought '25
Currently: Integrated BSc–MSc in Agricultural Economics in Thessaloniki
It was interesting, full of experiences, happy moments but also some difficulties. It was like my own movie where I was starring which I would like to star again. My time at BCB helped me better understand myself, recognize my strengths, work on my weaknesses, and ultimately build a new life in Berlin. I am very thankful for the time I had at BCB.
Write briefly about one of your courses that left a lasting impression on you:
One course that left a lasting impression on me was Econometrics, which I took in my third year at BCB. Although it was challenging at first, especially with the coding and statistical software like Stata, it quickly became one of the most valuable courses I completed. The skills I gained were essential for my thesis, where Econometrics served as my main analysis tool, and they continue to support my current work in my BSc–MSc program in Greece. It also prepared me well for later courses such as Quantitative Methods in Social Sciences and Experimental Economics. Even now, I still rely on the knowledge and methods I learned in that class.
Where are you now and what are you doing?
I’m currently in Thessaloniki, Greece, completing my second bachelor’s degree while applying to Master’s programs in both Greece and Germany, with Berlin as a strong option. Alongside my studies, I work at an American multinational company in a German-speaking role, where I’m developing skills in sales, client communication, and professional support.
How has BCB influenced the path you've taken since completing the program?
I graduated from BCB in May 2025 after completing my thesis, “Environmental Attitudes and Willingness to Pay for Renewable Energy: The Case of Greece.” The research I began at BCB became the foundation for my current academic work. I am now completing an integrated BSc–MSc in Agricultural Economics in Thessaloniki, where I am expanding and refining the survey and analysis from my original thesis. Agricultural Economics allows me to explore the intersection of environmental issues and economic policy, a combination that feels increasingly essential. I particularly enjoy working on projects related to climate change, global warming, and the recent wildfires in Greece, examining these challenges through both economic and political perspectives. This interest grew directly from the interdisciplinary approach I experienced at BCB.
I expect to graduate within the next academic year and am preparing to apply for Master’s programs. I remain in close contact with my BCB thesis advisor, whose guidance is helping me navigate this next step. BCB encouraged me to consider a future in economics, especially in areas connected to finance, banking, investments, or accounting. Above all, BCB taught me that choosing a path I genuinely care about is key to long-term success, a mindset that continues to shape my decisions for the future.
Any advice you would give to students considering BCB?
I would tell them that a wonderful journey awaits them: an interaction with several cultures, people from different backgrounds which will broaden their way of thinking and shape who they become. A vibrant city is ready to welcome them and help them write their own story. My advice is simple: go for it!
