Dr. Clara Meister (born 1981, lives in Berlin) is an internationally operating curator focusing on language, translation, and music. She received her doctorate from the HFBK Hamburg on the speaking voice in the visual arts, published by Edition Metzel, Munich. Meister curated, among others, Camille Henrot's first institutional solo exhibition and Nancy Holt's first solo exhibition in Germany. She was co-founder of the exhibition collective SOUNDFAIR and resident curator at Ludlow 38, New York. She worked as associate curator in the directors' department, project lead, and curator for AI at the Gropius Bau, Berlin, on exhibitions such as Garden of Earthly Delights and shows with Otobong Nkanga and Hella Jongerius, and initiated residencies inviting K Allado-McDowell, among others.
