Max was educated in the UK and has studied Philosophy, English and German literature in Munich, Tübingen, Durham (UK), Ann Arbor (USA) and Cambridge (USA). After writing an undergraduate thesis on Aristotelian psychobiology, he joined the Germanic Languages and Literatures PhD program at Harvard, where he is currently developing a dissertation around the early aesthetics of the Jenaer Romantics and the parekbases of address in German lyric from modernism onwards, read against the narratological displacements of the postmodern German novel.MA in Germanic Languages and Literatures
