Prof. Dr. Agata Lisiak receives OSUN Short-Term Faculty Mobility Fellowship in collaboration with the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg
During Lisiak’s two-week stay in Johannesburg, Lisiak and Roy guest taught in each other’s courses and completed a writing residency. At Wits, Lisiak attended meetings with faculty, students, and leadership, and was also a speaker on a panel on academic podcasting hosted by WISER (Wits Institute for Social and Economic Research). In conversation with Dr. Nicky Falcoff and Wits colleagues, Lisiak reflected on her experiences producing and hosting Spatial Delight, a podcast about space, society, and power.
Lisiak also visited the University of Pretoria where she spoke at an event titled “Foragers – Livelihoods, Lifeworlds, and Resistance under Occupation in Palestine.”
In addition to her own speaking engagements, Lisiak attended two conferences at Wits, “Beyond the Apocalypse: Rethinking Capitalism, Democracy and Crisis in South Africa” and “Queer (Im)possibilities.” She also attended a Repolla Reading Series event at the Johannesburg Institute for Advanced Study.
