Bard College Berlin politics faculty discuss US elections and populism in Europe
In a November 5 interview for Taggeschau, Vormann discussed possible scenarios that could play out following the election of Donald Trump. In a subsequent interview on November 6, Vormann discussed Trump’s possible plans: “Probably complete dismantling of the regulatory state.”
Vormann was also interviewed for a variety of German news outlets prior to the election, including an appearance on Deutsche Welle discussing election spending.
Leading up to the election, Vormann and Ebert were invited to present at a “lunchtime seminar” for students at NYU Berlin, providing expert analysis on the rise of populism by examining its causes, impact, and potential future in the U.S. and Europe. Their seminar addressed how populism is reshaping the political landscape on both sides of the Atlantic, with far-reaching implications for democracy, governance, and international relations.
