Prof. Dr. Agata Lisiak leads discussion on an equal Germany at Ballhaus Ost

As part of the “Mit Wirkung” event series at Ballhaus Ost this month, Prof. Dr. Agata Lisiak facilitated a conversation on the question of what would be necessary for an equal Germany. Lisiak and workshop participants read and discussed Ursula K. Le Guin’s Those Who Walk Away from Omelas and Rosa Luxemburg’s Order Prevails in Berlin, and later shared their reflections and questions with participants from parallel workshops.

In the current climate of division in Berlin, the “Mit Wirkung” series aims to provide a platform for solidarity and create spaces for listening, learning, reflection, and exchange. Funded by the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion’s action fund for projects against antisemitism, “Mit Wirkung” invites participants to share knowledge, ideas, and questions in order to envision a just society and draft ideas for the protection of all marginalized lives in Germany. The next event in the series will take place in late March 2025.
