Bard College Berlin Professor of Migration Studies Dr.
Agata Lisiak took part in a panel titled "
Podcasting as Care: Feminist Contact Zones" at the
Centre for Feminist Research,
Goldsmiths, University of London in February. Hosted by Nirmal Puwar and Rosalind Gill, the event brought together Goldsmiths media studies scholars and students to discuss the possibilities and limitations of podcasting -- a medium that is becoming ever more popular among academics. In her talk titled “The Feminist Delights of Podcasting: Reflections on Community and Care in Academia,” Lisiak drew on her experiences of making her podcast
Spatial Delight, reflecting on how community and care can be practiced in academia despite its "hostile and discouraging structures that promote individual success." Lisiak spoke alongside other feminist podcasters: Zoha Zokaei (creator of
Price of Secrecy) and Sabrina Etherington of
The F Less Travelled.
