Nick Houde is a researcher, writer, and musician based in Berlin. For the last three years he has worked as a research associate and co-curator at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) for the Technosphere Project and the Anthropocene Curriculum. Amidst these broader research areas, he has also written a number of texts and given public talks concerning a mixture of philosophy, technology, and politics. Some of this research has also spilled into sound composition and electronic music, usually under the moniker of Soft Steps or in collaboration with others. He holds a BA in Urbanism/Geography from the University of Colorado at Denver and an MA in Philosophy, art, and critical theory (PACT) from the European Graduate School (EGS). He is also the co-founder of the Vertical Unions Working Group at Trust.
