Riaz Partha Khan received his PhD in political science from the University of Chicago in 2001. He has taught courses in history, politics, economics, literature, and philosophy at research universities, liberal arts colleges, and study-abroad sites in the US, Germany, South Africa, and Bangladesh. He held faculty positions at New York University, Asian University for Women, and BRAC University. His teaching interests are in political theory, philosophy, and global history. His current research explores the relation between legal violence and modern political institutions from a global-historical perspective. His findings focus on the effects of the rule of property, legal exceptions, and segregation at local, national, and transnational levels on the formation of post-imperial forms of territorial and constitutional nation-states.PhD in Political Science
