The Project Year allows students to pursue an
individual research project under the supervision of a faculty member. Work on the project includes participation in a research colloquium that includes advice on research best practices, use of libraries and archives, and preparing writing samples and applications for graduate programs.
Additionally, Project Year students can choose from the wide range of Bard College Berlin's
core courses in intellectual history from ancient Greece to modernism, obtaining background and expertise that is indispensable for further study. They may also take
electives in any field offered at Bard College Berlin, including literature and film, philosophy and politics, and the practicing arts, as well as
language courses in German.
