14 new guest faculty join Bard College Berlin for the fall 2024 semester

In addition to Bard College Berlin’s full-time faculty members, each semester a variety of experienced visiting instructors from diverse backgrounds join the faculty to share their unique academic and artistic areas of expertise with students.

This semester, Bard College Berlin welcomes 14 new guest faculty members:
  • Lotta Beckers (MA in European Media Studies, University of Potsdam), co-teaching Archives of Sound with Noam Brusilovsky
  • Dr. Michel Chaouli (PhD in Comparative Literature, University of California, Berkeley), visiting from the Department of Germanic Studies at Indiana University, co-teaching Ideas of the Aesthetic with Prof. Dr. Katalin Makkai
  • Nadiya Chushak (National University of Kyїv Mohyla Academy), teaching Qualitative Methods in Social Sciences
  • Dr. Usahma Felix Darrah (PhD in Political Science, Heidelberg University), teaching A Critical Appraisal of the Arab Spring: 2010-2023
  • Dr. Elisabeta Dinu (PhD in Public Policy, Central European University), co-teaching Introduction to Policy Analysis with Prof. Dr. Gale Raj-Reichert
  • Dr. Francisca Rocha Gonçalves (PhD in Digital Media, FEUP - University of Porto), teaching Reflecting Human-Environment Relations
  • Dr. Christina Landbrecht (PhD in Art History, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin), teaching Feminist Art in the 20th and early 21st Centuries
  • Lotte Leerschool (MFA in Painting, Bard College), teaching Advanced Drawing: Process and Experimentation
  • Tobias Neubelt (MA in German as a Foreign and Technical Language, Technische Universität Berlin), teaching German Beginner A1
  • Dr. Michael Saman (PhD in Germanic Languages and Literatures, Harvard University), teaching German Beginner A2
  • Dr. Ostap Sereda (Phd in Comparative History, Central European University), teaching Society, Culture and Identities in Modern Eastern Europe: Ukraine in Context
  • Haley Stewart (MPhil in in European Literature and Culture and Latin American Studies, University of Cambridge), teaching Beyond Crisis: South American Memory Politics and Art
  • Ibrahim Tarek (MA in Art and Architectural History, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin), co-teaching Critical Perspectives on Berlin’s New Cultural Venue, the Humboldt Forum with Prof. Dr. Aya Soika
  • Florian Ullrich (MA in Teaching German as a Foreign Language, Technische Universität Berlin), teaching German Beginner A1

Bard College Berlin warmly welcomes these new guest instructors as they contribute to the college’s educational mission of global cultural and intellectual history, learning through discussion, and dedication to undergraduate teaching.
