Prof. Dr. Agata Lisiak Speaks at PodFest Berlin 2024

Professor of Migration Studies Agata Lisiak returns to PodFest Berlin as part of an open-door session for academics and researchers curious about how podcasting could be part of presenting their research and expanding their audiences. Lisiak is the writer, host, and producer of Spatial Delight (a ten-part podcast about the politics of space), and will share the various strategies, approaches, and techniques that helped translate complex ideas into accessible and enjoyable formats.

Scheduled for Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 11:30am at the House of Color in Kreuzberg, the panel will unpack and address the challenges and opportunities of academic podcasting including production quality, outreach, inclusivity, ethics, and more. This event is for everyone from established faculty to students, as well as podcast creators who are interested in working with academics and want to learn more about the academic perspective.

Aside from Lisiak, several BCB alumni and faculty have contributed to Spatial Delight: Adèle Martin '22 was a research and production assistant and also produced a bonus episode titled "Visual Delight," Bose Sarmiento '21, created the podcast artwork and guest hosted "Episode 9: Invasíon Espacial," Erick Moreno Superlano '22 guest hosted "Episode 5: Geometrías del Poder," Reece Cox '17 was the sound producer, Janina Schabig was instrumental in assembling the podcast equipment, and Florian Duijsens offered editorial feedback on the scripts.
